Prescribed Burn in Buda on Dec. 12

Austin Water will be performing a prescribed burn on Dec. 12 and possibly Dec. 13, approximately 2 miles south of 6555 RM 967 in Buda. The public can generally anticipate smoke being visible at locations along the I-35 corridor between South Austin and Kyle to the east and between Dripping Springs and Wimberley to the west.

The burn ban has been
lifted as of Nov. 7, 2024.

The Fire Marshal's Office encourages residents to burn brush collected on their property now while conditions are favorable. This will mitigate future hazards should a wildfire occur.

REPORT DISASTER DAMAGES. Hays County Residents Urged to Self-Report Damages to Homes and Businesses via the iSTAT

Hays County Office of Emergency Services is encouraging all residents in the surrounding areas to self-report damages sustained to their homes and/or businesses as a result of the severe weather via the iSTAT website below. The objective of this survey is to identify damages and support emergency management officials across the state to gain an understanding of damages that have occurred during the recent severe weather event.

Within the survey, you will have the opportunity to upload photos of your damages. Please ensure photos are clear and depict disaster-related damages.

This survey, available in both English and Spanish, can be accessed by visiting: https://damage.tdem.texas.gov/. Reporting damages to Emergency Management is a voluntary activity, is not a substitute for reporting damage to an insurance agency, and does not guarantee disaster relief assistance.
